The District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) is established to work for the interest and benefit of persons and areas affected by mining-related operations. Its purpose is to implement various developmental and welfare projects to minimize the adverse impacts of mining.

The high priority sectors include Drinking Water Supply, Environment preservation and pollution control measures, Health Care, Education, Welfare of Women and Children, Welfare of aged and disabled persons, and Skill development.

DMFT funds are utilized according to PMKKKY guidelines. At least 60% of the funds are spent on high priority sectors, and the remaining 40% can be used for other priority sectors as defined in the guidelines.
